About Next Brain

Evidence first.

Founder

I'm Rock, a tech entrepreneur and the founder of Next Brain. My curiosity about how brains work and how neural systems learn led me to pursue independent research and build this platform. I share methods, results and progress as Next Brain develops. You can find me on X as @rockl2e.

Why Next Brain

At its core is Brian2 Atlas, the open-source engine I've released for distributed neural simulation and native training. It runs supported Brian2 models across MPI clusters, CPU and GPU runtimes, and the browser. Next Brain brings that engine together with neural simulation and spiking-network training, including checkpoints, evaluation and inference. I want to make it easier to turn research questions into experiments you can inspect, compare and build on. The principle is simple: build the evidence before the claim. I document methods, results and limitations in the research and blog pages.

Open source & research

Brian2 Atlas can be installed and used independently of the Next Brain platform. Its source code, preprint and reproduction materials are public. Visit the engine overview for installation, results, slides and citation details, or read why I built Atlas. Contributions and research collaborations are welcome.

Let's collaborate

I welcome research collaborations across disciplines, from reproducing published results and testing neural models to exploring learning and new research questions. Early-stage ideas, questions and corrections are welcome too. Email me at [email protected] or find me on X (@rockl2e).
